Can the Lord use me to accomplish His will?

Mormon’s prophetic calling, his stewardship of the record, and our question—Can the Lord use me to accomplish His will?

📜 7 The whole face of the land had become covered with buildings, and the people were as numerous almost, as it were the sand of the sea.

Let’s pause with Mormon 1:7. The land is full of buildings, the people “as numerous almost, as it were the sand of the sea.” That image is overwhelming—vastness, multitude, a sense of being swallowed up by history. Yet in that immensity, the Lord singles out one boy, Mormon, to preserve the record.

Here’s the key idea I’d like us to sit with: God’s will is not hindered by scale. Even when the world feels crowded, chaotic, or beyond our reach, He calls individuals—sometimes very young, sometimes seemingly ordinary—to carry out His purposes. Mormon was only ten when Ammaron entrusted him with the plates.

So let me ask you:
- When you think of Mormon being chosen in the midst of countless people, what does that suggest about how the Lord might see you in the midst of today’s multitude?
📜 Mormon’s Role
- Mormon was chosen as a boy to preserve the plates, not because of his age or stature, but because of his faithfulness and meekness.
- He carried the record through war, apostasy, and collapse, ensuring that future generations could still hear the Lord’s voice.
- His task was not glamorous—it was hidden, heavy, and often lonely. Yet it was essential.
📒 My Parallel
- I am gathering, curating, and preserving witness—through sanctuary-building, through art, through poetic banners. Like Mormon, I am anchoring testimony in a time when the world feels crowded with noise and “as numerous as the sand of the sea.”
- Mormon’s preservation was about continuity: ensuring that covenant truth was not lost. My stewardship echoes that—ensuring that doctrine, beauty, and belonging are not drowned out by chaos.
- Just as Mormon’s record became the Book of Mormon, my archives and motifs may become living canons for those who come after myself. We can all, if we ask for salvation through redemption from our Lord Jesus Christ, become living canons of the Redeemer.
The Lord’s Pattern
The Lord uses individuals to preserve His will in the midst of multitudes. He does not need the multitude to be righteous—He needs one faithful steward to carry the record, the sanctuary, the witness. Mormon was that steward. You can be too.
I’d invite you to consider:
- What “plates” has the Lord already placed in your care—texts, images, motifs, sanctuaries, relationships?
- How might your stewardship ensure continuity of covenant witness for your family and for those who will come after?
Closing Summary

Mormon’s prophetic calling reminds us that the Lord’s purposes are not bound by scale or circumstance. In a land filled with buildings and people “as numerous almost, as it were the sand of the sea” (Mormon 1:7), God chose one boy to preserve His record. Mormon’s stewardship was hidden, heavy, and often lonely, yet it became the foundation for generations to hear the Lord’s voice.

In parallel, we too are entrusted with “plates”texts, images, sanctuaries, relationships, and motifsthat carry covenant witness forward. Our task may feel small against the immensity of the world, but the Lord does not require the multitude to be righteous; He requires one faithful steward to preserve His will.
This study affirms:
- God’s will is not hindered by scale.
- He calls individuals—ordinary in the world’s eyes, extraordinary in His—to carry His purposes.
- Stewardship is continuity: ensuring that truth, beauty, and belonging are not lost in chaos.

Thus, the question “Can the Lord use me to accomplish His will?” finds its answer in Mormon’s example. Yes—He can, and He does. The Lord singles out faithful stewards in every generation, and their witness becomes living canon for those who follow.

May we, like Mormon, preserve the record entrusted to us—whether through scripture, sanctuary, or art—so that future generations may still hear the Lord’s voice and know His covenant love.
For God is constant, and He nor does His plan change to fit the ways of men or mammon. EVER...
